Australasia & Pacific

Fabulous Australasia

Soak up the warm, friendly atmosphere of Darling Harbour or enjoy a refreshing drink in the historic Rocks Area. Catch a show at the architecturally inspiring Opera House or take an easy walk from Circular Quay to the beautiful bursting Royal Botanical Gardens. Bondi Beach has to be on your hit list for the classic "Aussie" beach experience.  If you have time and are looking for something a little different, revitalise yourself in the stunning Blue Mountains.  Melbourne, many times voted the world's most liveable city, offers an incredible palate of cultural experiences as well as some first rate sporting events including the Melbourne Cup, Australian F1 Grand Prix and the Australian Open Tennis. The Whitsunday Islands are one of the finest examples of paradise that the World has to offer.  Many of the islands beaches are made up of pure white silica sand which bizarrely squeak as you walk across them.

The two islands that make up New Zealand are crammed full of unique, curious areas all begging to be explored, set against a rich Maori backdrop, waiting to be uncovered. Why not contrast the vibrant city life with some incredibly raw nature while you are in Australasia, Rotorua on the North Island is known for its geothermal activity, and features incredible hot mud pools and powerful geysers (pictured left) which spurt water up to two to three times per hour and reach heights of up to 100 metres. This marvellous spectacle is sure to amaze you! How about a series of art, music and film festivals.  Enjoy fine ales in the historic pubs and make sure you visit the Te Papa Museum for an interesting narrative on the history of New Zealand.

The Pacific Islands, including Fiji, Tonga and French Polynesia, also form a large part of Australasia, and offer an alternative experience of tropical islands fringed with coconut palms swaying over sun drenched beaches.  Extend your visit to the "other side of the world" by staying on these stunning desert islands
